 Air Force Gravity BombsThe Air Force maintains a stockpile of various
gravity bombs for delivery by long-range bombers and fighter-bomber aircraft. As
of 2005, this stockpile includes approximately 2,100 bombs of two types (B61 and
B83). More than half of these are active, with the remainder in inactive
storage.
The gravity bombs exist in seven different modifications (mods) with
different characteristics and capabilities: B61-3, B61-4, B61-7, B61-10, B61-11, B80-0 and B83-1.
